Plan the Perfect Virtual Hen Party

We think it’s safe to say that we’re all totally over ‘lockdown’ and can’t wait to get back to partying with our friends and family, however for the time being things look like they’ll be staying the same, so we’ve pulled together some ideas for you to throw your bestie a fabulous virtual hen party.

Get your guest-list organised

Start by pulling together the list of guests your bride gave you when you were planning her original hen party celebrations and getting in touch with them all with a time and date your virtual hen party will be taking place.

Top Tip: It’s super important to make sure that the Bride and all her Bridesmaids are available before going out to the rest.

Pick a Platform

By now you’ll have nailed the WFH life and will be well versed on the multiple platforms available to use for this, however it’s important that you make sure your event doesn’t feel like a meeting, so keep that in mind when pulling the activities together. The top 5 virtual get together apps are:

  • Zoom

  • Google Hangouts

  • Houseparty

  • Skype

  • Facetime

Top Tip: Before choosing which platform you’ll be using, be sure to find out who has accounts where as there’s no point setting up a Facetime call if half of the hens have Android phones.

Design some cute e-vites

Let’s keep to the virtual theme here and send out e-vites rather than paper invitations. This is a much more economical and planet friendly way to spread the word. You can download free templates or make your own using Canva which is free to use!

Pick a theme

Start by asking yourself: What is your brides guilty pleasure? This could be anything from 90’s R&B to Greys Anatomy, Unicorns to Sharks - the list is endless and only you and her besties will know which theme is best to go for. Your theme should be carried all the way through the following:

  • e-vites

  • Dress Code

  • Food and Drink

  • Music

  • Party Games

Plan your party games

No hen party is complete without a number of embarrassing games for everyone to get involved in. While you can’t dress each other up in toilet paper dresses and go on scavenger hunts at the moment, there is still plenty of fun games to play from the comfort of your couch. Here are some of our top games to try:

  • Mr & Mrs

  • Bridal Bingo

  • Cards Against Humanity - The online version

  • For the Girls Adult Party Game

Send an Installation to the Bride

We all love surprises and the perfect gift to surprise the Bride with would be Hen Party Installation that can be set up in her own home for her to enjoy whilst on the virtual hen party with all her faves. This could be a form of flower, pampas or greenery wall, or maybe a balloon installation in her wedding colours. Serendipity Events have a number of options which can be installed safely in the home or garden, get in touch by emailing hello@serendipityevents.co.uk to hear how we can help.

Cocktails!!

We recommend sending all of the hens a list of ingredients to buy before the party for some simple cocktails they can make while they’re on the call.

Plan a Playlist and Virtual Dance Party

Using the theme of your choice, build a playlist using Spotify or Apple Music and share it with the girls, then make sure you allocate at least 30 minutes of your call for a dance party… preferably after the cocktails are in full flow.

Enjoy!
